Patient guide
What to know before and after your first visit.
Coming for your first visit
- Bring any dental X-rays taken in the last year.
- Note the medication you take and any known allergies.
- Arriving 10 minutes early is enough for registration.
Changing or cancelling
- Please let us know at least 24 hours in advance if you need to change your appointment.
- If you are late, the treatment time may be shortened or the appointment rescheduled so that other patients are not kept waiting.
Payment
- You can pay in cash or by credit card.
- The treatment plan and fees are shared in writing before treatment starts.
- Call the clinic for information about partner institutions.
Emergencies
- During opening hours we try to see you on the same day for sudden pain or swelling.
- Outside opening hours, call 112 if you have rapidly increasing facial swelling, fever, or difficulty breathing or swallowing.
General questions
How long should I allow for an examination?
The first examination usually takes 30–45 minutes. Any X-rays are taken during the same visit.
Does treatment start on the first day?
Unless there is an emergency such as pain, the first visit is for examination and planning; treatment starts at the next appointment with your approval.
Do any dentists speak other languages?
Most of our dentists speak English, and our orthodontist also speaks German.
Can I bring my child?
Of course. Our paediatric dentist can help you plan family appointments on the same day.
